    David Morgasen

     

    DAVID MORGASEN is a writer/producer/director for television, film and New Media.  His screenplay credits include the hit Disney film Princess Protection Program, Monks for Warner Brothers, and the Harry Potter” spoof, Henry Bates & the Sorcerer's Balls for MGM.  TV credits include co-creator, writer, and Executive Producer of FX Network's Son of the Beach, and was a writer/co-executive producer on E!'s Night Stand With Dick Dietrick.  He was a staff writer on ABC's Hiller and Diller and wrote multiple episodes for Showtime's Sherman Oaks.  Morgasen wrote for several primetime specials, including The American Comedy Awards, creating original material for artists such as Julia Louis Dreyfus, Jerry Seinfeld, Dick Van Dyke, and Eddie Murphy. 

    As a director, he's worked for shows including ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he shot pieces featuring Kimmel, Cloris Leachman, Eminem, Manny Pacquiao and others too numerous to mention.  Morgasen has consistently been on the forefront of viral video and New Media.  During his tenure as Executive Producer at HBO Digital, he produced and directed installments of the early Youtube sensation, David Blaine’s Street Magic.  He created several web series, including Dogs Rule, Cats Not So Much for Disney XD online, Hackerazzi for Yahoo!’s comedy channel, and Famous Faces for Mini-Movie Channel.  The latter series spawned Morgasen's hugely popular viral video, McCain-Obama Dance Off, which garnered tens of millions of views and extensive coverage on news outlets across the country. 

    Morgasen's work has been featured in the Outfest Film Festival and the L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival.  In 2017, Morgasen received his Masters in Fine Arts from California State University at Fullerton.  Currently he is putting the finishing touches on his pilot, The Big D, and working with his partners on developing an animated comedy with Courteney Cox attached to produce.
